Redesign Legal

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Everything you might want to know before sharing your story.

What is Redesign Legal?+

It is a civic initiative to redesign how citizens experience the legal system. We start with evidence: real stories from the people the system affects. Those stories reveal the bottlenecks, and the bottlenecks decide what gets redesigned first.

Is this a company, an NGO or a government body?+

Right now it is an independent civic initiative founded by Mukul. It is not a product pitch and not a waitlist. The work is open, and it is shaped by everyone who contributes their experience.

Why does this need real stories? Why not just propose fixes?+

Because redesigning without evidence produces rules that look good on paper and fail in practice. The delays, costs and confusion people actually face are the blueprint. Real experiences point to problems that insiders often stop noticing.

Who can share their story?+

Anyone. Citizens who faced a legal situation, lawyers and advocates, law students, judges and court staff, police and government officials, startups, corporates and NGOs. Every angle matters, including the people who work inside the system.

What happens with my answers?+

They are stored securely and read personally. Responses are studied for patterns: where people get stuck, what it costs them, and what would have prevented it. Those patterns guide which bottleneck the initiative takes on first.

Will my name or story be published?+

Your name and contact details are never published. Stories may inform the redesign work, but always in a form that does not identify you unless you explicitly agree.

Does it cost anything to take part?+

No. Sharing your story is free, and it always will be. The last question in the survey simply asks whether you would value a solution enough to pay for it. That answer helps plan what is realistic to build.

How can I help beyond the survey?+

Start by sharing your story in as much detail as you can. As the work grows, there will be more ways to contribute, from reviewing findings to helping design fixes. Detailed, honest responses are the most valuable contribution right now.
